Mr Jacques Marneweck
Control Technical Assistant (Phytotron Unit): Innovation Africa @UP Campus
Jacques is a Control Technical Assistant for the Phytotron Units at the Innovation Africa @UP Campus. He previously worked at the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) in 1994 as a Test officer conducting Pesticide registration trials for Dept of Agriculture (act 36 of 1947) and pesticide development research for Multinational companies. Jacques has also worked for the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences of the University of Pretoria for 22 years. He is involved in supervision, mentoring and rendering research assistance to undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as giving technical support to researchers of various Departments within UP. He completed his remote pilot license in January 2023 and is currently involved in data capturing using drones.
