Sahabne is a passionate professional with a strong academic background and diverse working experience. She has graduated from Stellenbosch University with an MSc in Plant pathology. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science followed by a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Botany from Walter Sisulu University. During her honours degree, she explored the intricate interactions of maize physiology, contributing to the South African Journal of Botany. She further worked on the treatment of a plant pathogen using sanitation products during her masters earning recognition with a publication in the Journal of Fungi.
Previously, she worked in the seed industry as a Phytosanitary Technician at the South African National Seed Organisation. She played a crucial role in ensuring sanitary and phytosanitary adherence to national and international plant health standards. She also has experience in the fruit industry as a Fruit Inspector and Packhouse Administrator highlighting her proficiency in managing logistics and maintaining product quality across the agricultural supply chain.
